Giovanna Paponetti's Long Journey with Saint Kateri
This Saturday, December 8th, at 1:30 pm, Giovanna Paponetti, artist and author, will speak about the life of Native American Saint, Kateri Tekakwitha.
Kateri's mother was a Catholic Algonquin and her father was a Mohawk. On October 12th, 2012 she was canonized a Saint by Pope Benedict XVI. Giovanna was commissioned to paint altar panels based on Kateri's life. The altar panels are in St. John the Baptist church at Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo.
Giovanna will also speak about her book Kateri: Native American Saint: the Life and Miracles of Kateri Tekakwitha.
