Teens will be given a sharpie and a page from a random book, create a design and poem, and then vote on the best design and  poem. Get your creative juices going and win a prize!

  • There will be a  Book sale this Saturday, July 13th at the Farmers Market, from 8 am to 1 pm.

  • Adventures de Taos summer lecture series continues this Saturday, July 13th, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm, with Don Francisco Trujillo speaking on Fiestas de Taos: Historical Perspective.

The annual Fiestas are so important to the people of Taos, New Mexico
that they have four different names — las Fiestas de Taos, las Fiestas
de don Fernando de Taos, las Fiestas de Santiago y Santana and las
Fiestas de la Gente. Don Francisco Trujillo II, President of the Taos
Fiesta Council, Inc., has served on the Fiesta Council for over 30 years.
Trujillo’s own roots in New Mexico extend back for over 12 generations.
In a Taos News interview Trujillo stated “What I wish for those new to
the fiesta is the ‘cariƱo’ or affection of the people of our community. We
put ‘savor’ or flavor into everything we do: Dance, music, cuisine,
conversation, fellowship, the preservation of our traditions and culture,
our commitment to God, family and country, the list goes on.” Don
Francisco will review the historical significance of the annual fiestas and
the meaning it has to the people of Taos.
